The San Diego Leadership Alliance (SDLA) is a nonpartisan nonprofit formed to develop San Diego's progressive leadership by providing the skills, relationship and opportunities to build a sustainable progressive infrastructure in the San Diego region.
Our Progressive Values:

Our Leadership Institute
The San Diego Leadership Alliance (SDLA) is a local nonprofit dedicated to building progressive leadership in San Diego.
The SDLA’s flagship program is the SDLA Institute, a six-month intensive skills and relationship building program for progressive young professionals.
The SDLA Institute includes the following elements:
- Personal leadership development
- Skill building in multiple areas, including policy analysis, political management, messaging, and strategic communications
- Training on fundraising for politics and nonprofits
- Application of fundraising skills via organizing a fellows’ fundraiser
- Spotlight speaker visits from local elected officials and prominent progressive leaders
- Networking events with the Institute class, the SDLA board, and the larger SDLA network

The SDLA Institute is the organization's flagship program, consisting of skills and relationship building over six-months. We strongly encourage nominations of emerging leaders for the institute, and progressive young professionals in the San Diego region to apply. Applicants MUST be members of SDLA. To become a member, go to https://www.sdleadership.org/membership Applications are due at 11:59 PM on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. Late applications will not be reviewed. Join the San Diego Leadership Alliance for a summer meet-up at a Padres game! We’re heading to Petco Park on August 2 for a 7:10 pm game to cheer on the hometown team against the Colorado Rockies. Bring yourself and bring a friend! Tickets are $45 per person for field level and are on sale now, but only for a limited time.
